Crusade returns for another year with a drop in price point, but that does not necessary make it a better value. The 250-card base set comprises of 150 veterans, 50 rookies and 50 legends. The rookies and legends appear 1:3 packs. There are three numbered parallels for the base cards.
A little confusing, there is also a Crusade Insert set. You will get more Crusade inserts in a box than base cards. Each pack yielded three Crusade inserts with 1-2 base cards. Base cards are showcased on a white card stock while the parallels are refractor based. The refractors have many versions from the unnumbered blue to a Green /5. All total, there are eight levels.
Only three insert sets grace Crusade. While this box contained two, odds are you could get less than that with Nobility (1:14), Royalty and Night Court (1:18 each). There are lackluster in nature as they seem like simple carryovers from the base card design with little tweaks. There are no parallel versions of any of these.
Each box should yield one autograph and one relic on average. The two relic series are Quest and Majestic Memorabilia, both with a Prime version /25. Autographs get a better treatment with a small array of sets. Rookies get some love with Apprentice Signatures. Legends appear in Hardwood Homage and Sultans of Springfield. Other sets include Quest, Majestic and High Praise Ink. The bright side is the use of on card autographs in some cases.
