Upper Deck Day with the Cup Question
Anyone know why "Day with the Cup" cards are declining in value?
2011-12 hold avg BV $120 with only 2 under $100
2012-13 hold avg BV $80 with prices scattered all over the place
2013-14 hold avg BV $50 with only Kane and Toews over $100
Production run go up each year? Demand going down?
Thoughts?

People move on - once you get past the first few die-hard collectors building the team set, it becomes just a casual project at best, and that means less demand to pay the big prices.
Not only the collectors, but the players. Look how much turnover we see - even on a case hit honouring the Cup winners, if Joe 3rd liner goes to a different team, that will also push down interest & value.
Habs fan and collector! Current PC's: Nick Suzuki, Cole Caufield, and Lane Hutson...., and of course...

I hear ya...
19 of 27 Kings are still on the team. not to mention everywhere I see the cards, they want a lot more than BV.
I guess I will just keep looking for the best deal on them

Same as everything in the hobby. These were novel and new in the first year, now they are getting repetitive and don't hold the same appeal as they once did. Same reason jersey cards decline in value and everything else in the hobby.
