    Greetings,

I'm not a collector of hockey cards and have little expertise in the subject. A small number of cards were given to me several years ago. I have one card in particular that I am looking for some guidance as to if it is worth anything. It is a error card, but not one of the ones listed as a known error card (corrected or otherwise). It has Pro Set 90-91 Neil Wilkinson #465 on the front, and an NBA Charles Edward Davis on the back. I have included a photo.

So what I'm trying to determine is if this card is unique or special. From what I have been able to research, errors like this usually occur when the factory is changing between printing runs, and should never have entered circulation. I also understand that anything Pro Set is mostly worthless. That being said, could this possible be the first pro-set hockey card ever printed? The first of the hockey card bubble?

    Please advise,
    Thank you

I've actually seen several of these. None for sale on eBay but in people's personal collections. They are very rare but with the huge print run of Pro Set or say NBA Hoops if 1% of the cards ended up like that you would have a lot of them. Most of the ones I've seen were of star or superstar players. I've seen one of Jordan for example who outside of key rookie cards would have to be the most valuable. With the way errors and Pro Set collectors are on eBay I'd list it with a high best offer and hope you have somebody bite on it. A unique card for sure but the player selection isn't the greatest for either the hockey side or basketball one.

    All,

Thank you very much for the help and recommendations. It's good to know that it is a topic at least worthy of discussion.

For the one skeptic, I assure you that it is a single card.

As I'm not a collector nor a decedent of either player, I will likely sell it. I don't have any delusions about the worth of this card, I just don't want to "the idiot" in one of those buy/sell stories where a dealer buys a card from some idiot for $30 and sells it to the player's grandson for several thousand.

So the best advice I have heard was to post it to e-bay for some ridiculous price with an OBO option and see if I get any bites. For the people who contacted me privately, I'll let you know when I decide to sell it.

Is there another way to do this as well, where I pay a percentage to a dealer to find a buyer for me?

Thanks again to all the people who took the time to reply.

Those are two cards stuck together. Sorry to break it to you.

Not sure if this comment was serious...but it was definitely hilarious!

    See kevhur's Items on eBay

there is a guy who specializes in Proset errors
I think he's website is "junk wax" or something to that effect. he is a member on HI and may be a member here as well.
Some of the prices that are paid for Proset errors will really surprise you.
I agree with the others, put it on Ebay at a very high price and see if you get any offers

Honestly if you say that the cards were just given to you why not list it on eBay at $0.99 and see what you get. You may get a bidding war or it may not even sell.

If you have nothing invested into the card and the card means nothing to you, then you have nothing to lose.
