I know I'll be trying to grab a few bundles of points here and there. Hopefully our friends in basketball & football will be willing to part with them so that we hockey guys can get in on the action too.
Habs fan and collector! Current PC's: Nick Suzuki, Cole Caufield, and Lane Hutson...., and of course...

I offered a seller $40 each for his Red Wings cards. He responded by offering me 99 cents on all of my listings.
This is what I was afraid of. People thinking they can make $150+ on each card and really sticking it to the collector.
I wasn't around when Pacific went under so I don't know if these two situations are comparable. I do have some non-stamped Red Wings rookies that Pacific had as reserves or replacements and they are referred to as 'oddities' with far fewer collectors being interested in them.
These 1/1s will screw a lot of people out of good money but interest will drop significantly very soon.Master List: Hidden Content

I don't think I would even consider as legitimate cards in the truest sense. Like 1/1 Show cards: They weren't made as part of a set. They aren't pack inserted. They weren't even made as redemptions for pack inserted cards. These are "manufactured" rarities with the "scarcity" artificially generated. They can crank out as many or as few as they, as long as people keep wanting them.
There have been similar situations in the past, but those required collecting the actual cards.
95-96 Score: Platinum Team sets were issued, but you had to collect/send in a full team set of Gold Line cards.
96-97 Score: Dealer's could get special "Dealer's Choice" artist proofs and "special" artists proofs. You had to look at the back of score cards with a lenticular lens to see if you were a winner.
ITG's Made-to-Order cards are probably the closest thing to a new creation card that isn't somehow tied to the main release. While you had to collect He Shoot/Scores points to get a made to order, there was a lot of point trading going on.Last edited by Drewk86a; 07-20-2014 at 11:52 PM.

I saw my PC guy in Gelinas is on ebay for $300. I wouldn't even offer him 10% of that for a promo "1/1"

Hey you guys just said what I said. Thanks for reading it :P
If it;s isn't released to everyone then its not a true rookie. Shame on those that grab the high-end rookies and ask for $1000. Absolute disgrace. When I found out how these cards were acquired I basically boycotted the whole thing. That's why I am pretty adamant with my opinions in this thread. This is why I went out of my way to bid 99 cents on every single auction a certain seller had when he did the same thing to me after offering a serious $40 on a Datsyuk.
I hope those who acquired 20+ of these at the same time end up selling for $20 each. $200 -$300 for a common card is a disgrace and $1000 for a rookie is shameful. I've already blocked that seller from buying from me. Not like he would, he isnt a hockey collector. Shameful.
My 2 cents.

Golly gee, looking at completed items on ebay, quite a few have sold already for some pretty serious coin... to me (and sounds like some others feel this way) I feel like these are pretty much the same as expo promo cards, but looks like some player collectors absolutely have to have these. Selling prices like these are only going to encourage these flippers, sigh.
Jonathan Toews $250
Alex Chiasson $99
Slava Voynov $110
Jeff Carter $100
Alex Galchenyuk $205.97
Danny Dekeyser $200
Vladimir Tarasenko $250
Tom Wilson $170
Philipp Grubauer $180
