Tuff Stuff, Beckett Pricing Difference
I happened to check the July Issue of Tuff Stuff and looked up in the football section the value of the 05 Prestige SP RC of Eric Shelton. Card #179. I happen to have the Xtra Points Purple Parallel to this card meaning it is #ed to 100. Tuff Stuff has the SP RC valued at $30 and the Xtra Points Purple value of a SP RC as 1x to 2x. This means that the mint card that I have could be worth up to $60. Looking at the Beckett Pricing, the SP RC is worth $25 and the Xtra Points Purple is only worth $20 meaning the value of my card is .2x the regular SP RC. Do you think this was a print error or is Tuff Stuff and Beckett usually this divided on the worth of a card?

Im not sure, but I dont deal with beckett anymore. SO I hear, one guy writes and puts all the prices in, so its completely single minded. I like the variance in Tuff Stuff, having many products, same price, and better articles
Tuff Stuff and Beckett seem to have some differences, but not that significant.

It is like differences of opinions. Everybody has one. You can't help but use beckett with them being the leading market Price guide and what 99% of the people / traders / collectors use.

Okay, then my next question would be: How many prints are actually made for a SP RC? If the Xtra Points Purple only has 100 copies and is worth .2x the regular SP RC, shouldnt that mean that there were less than 100 SP RC's made? Or is this a case of Xtra Points Parallels being inserted more frequently than a SP RC?

Pretty sure they made more of the Extra Points in relation to the amount for that color. Don't quote me though.

Many times with SPs, the base issue is more rare than the the parallel (such as with Ultra Lucky 13 base SP vs the Gold medallion), so I'm guessing Beckett is closer to the market on this particular issue than TuffStuff. It's been a while since I read a TuffStuff, but remember that their values used to be slighter lower than Beckett's in most cases.
Back in the days before the internet, ebay, SCF I preferred Beckett for this reason because I did most my trading with card shops and got better trade value using Beckett.

tuff stuff is NOT the one you should go by.
The Xtra Points cards are NOT considered to be RC`s. The regular SP issue is THE rc. Xtra Points are parallels and are not considered to be true RC`s by almost every collector, or at least those who know about collecting. Go with the beckett price.

alright, so I put in the wrong number, dont harp on it because you dont have anything better to do, but if you have anything pertinent towards the topic I'd be more than happy to listen.
