Question
I am looking to start a player collection and am new to ebay and to the hobby. I found a card that I really like on ebay, but I'm unfamiliar with the site as far as buying cards. I was wondering what you guys would consider a good rating and what kind of signs should I look for to see if the seller is reliable. Thanks.

Its a very nice looking card, Ill say that first. He Has alot of feedback, but 98.3% is pretty bad. As long as your paying with paypal though, you should be ok. Usually, I look for 99.7% and higher, and try to stick to only paypal. Your alot more safe doing paypal, than cash or MO. Good luck! Hope I helped.

Umm, I buy quite a bit, but theres not many techniques really. I typically bid whenever, but some people try and bid closest to its ending time. I feel the more bids earlier though, the more it deters would be buyers because they think it will go very high. Most would go closest to ending time though.
Always set a maximum bid on the Max you would like to pay. I would guess the Chipper is an easy $50 card, but I dont collect him or Braves, so you would be better off checking there. That or you can go to "Advanced Search" on ebay, and type in say "Chipper Jones Auto Patch", then click the little box with Completed listings only (shows only those finished) and you can get a general idea of the price it may go for.
You will encounter "Snipers" on ebay, those who use a program to bid a certain price near the end of an auction to win. I dont like using the program, but many beg to differ.
All In all, just have fun. Not only have I found ebay as an excellent source of adding bait and PC cards, but Ive found it was a very good way to buy and resell, and make the almighty dollar.
