probably for a fraction of that (if we'll ever find out. Not sure if it's something that anyone actually has to report).
IIRC, the 68 million figure was a combination of combination pain & suffering and lost wages (money he would have made in the NHL).
Truthfully, Moore was a marginal player. He'd played a total 69 games over 3 season (granted 57 in his final one, so he was likely going to be there the full year). He was already 26 when the injury happened, he'd have been out of the league by the time he was 30 anyway. Would he have continued to play in the minors? Probably. But the notion that he was in line to make even $10M over the course of his NHL career is a farce.
I'm not trying to diminish how rotten of a thing it was that Bertuzzi did.... but if Moore was able to get 10% of his asking price, he should consider himself (financially) lucky.

I can understand wanting justice and the proverbial "pound of flesh" in Moore's case, however 68M though is completely astronomical. He wasn't that great a player to begin with and frankly even if he had played into his 30's never would have reached that amount. I'm not going to defend Bertuzzi either because what he did was wrong. That being said 68M, No Way, Ain't Happening !!!

I'm sure the Canucks paid the bulk of this freight. If it ever went to court Bertuzzi would have spilled the beans that
coaches and management were seeking retribution on Moore.
Glad it's over - for Moore, Bertuzzi and the NHL
