    Shipping to Russia?

    Good Morning Everyone;

    I have a potential deal on some of my higher end Ryan Smyth cards with a buyer from Russia. Is it safe to ship to Russia? If so, what is the best way to ship?

    Thanks

    I would check Canada Posts website. Based on the current political issues in Russia and the trade restrictions that Russia has placed on western countries, I would look into a registered package. It will be more, but this way you will know if the parcel arrives, plus you can put insurance on it.

    I have sent a half-dozen $10-$50 deals to Russia over the past couple of years, regular mail, no problem - nothing since the Ukraine issues began, though. If we are talking $100+, you should probably plan on registered mail or some other traceable, insurable carrier.

    I`ve only had a couple Russian packages over the years - but currently I probably wouldn't accept any sales or trades to Russia or the Ukraine - but that's just me being super cautious -

    Say no to Mother Russia! Just kidding but I would feel pretty hesitant to ship anything to Russia worth any value $50 or more at this time.

    I have shipped about 3 items to Russia in the past year, including a $300 card (bought from ebay). I've read about people warning to be wary of Russia, but I have never had a problem. Just beware that it could take longer for you package to be delivered depending on which part of Russia. Also to save any confusion with the addresses, I print the address and tape it to the package rather than try to write it as some can be very long and convoluted.

    I will admit that I too have never had a problem with Russia during the four or five times I've shipped there (but the most expensive card I have sent there was $20 - $30 range). That being said I have no idea of what is happening over there.

    I've shipped to Russia many times. Universities, default addresses... never a problem. Don't be a hater.
