Fake Cell Phone Towers
Just saw this article. Quite disturbing if you ask me. Apparently we can't even trust cell phone towers anymore. The big question I have is how someone erects a cell phone tower and gets it going without the FCC noticing.

It blows my mind that there could be a bunch of cell towers and nobody knows who put them there or who owns them.

I saw this story about a week ago. They're very likely not physical cell towers. There are numerous devices, including the "suitcase sized" Stingray that was mentioned in the Dailymail article, that can be used to do tower dumps (i.e. create "fake" cell towers) and do all kinds of things to the target phone.

Doesn't answer the question of why they'd be near military bases and given that it's use is apparently somewhat common among law enforcement, you have to wonder how many more are in use but undiscovered around the US and, as a Canadian, I wonder how many (if any) are in Canada.

I wondered the same thing when I read the article. Probably more than we think!

Not sure we can handle the truth of why they are really there.
Too bad we do not possess a media that would see this as a story worthy of investigation. Maybe it is nothing, but shouldn't more people be interested?
