    Success ... Kind of

So this is a TTM success, of sorts. I bought a 1973 match print photo (1 of 1) of Dick McAuliffe from Topps on eBay. I sent the 1973 card to Mr. McCauliffe for him to sign. He does charge $5 per card, BTW.

Here is what he sent back:

Looks great ... But he signed the penny sleeve, not the card! He's an older gentleman, so I do feel bad about it for him. It was an honest mistake, I think. I guess I'll send the card back, and ask him to re-sign.

It's good to hear of similar experiences - I'm definitely going to send it back to him ... and word my request for him to re-sign carefully. I don't want to make him feel bad.

Why even bother to put the card in a penny sleeve? It's not like it's going to keep it from getting damaged.

I bought the card becase it was NRMT with 50/50 centering .... and it came in a holder with a penny sleeve. I just put it in a new envelope and sent it to Mr. McAuliffe. I'll leave it out of the penny sleeve when I send it back to him.
