I have stood for the national anthem, but have not had to say the pledge for anything for the last 30 or so years.

I can't even remember at what grade we stopped saying the pledge. I don't recall doing so in high school. Public school would be the last time. I do remember having some kinds that wouldn't stand for the pledge due to the religion. I'm not sure what their religion was since this was when I was in 3rd grade or so which was 30 some years ago. As I think about it now... how unfortunate was it to require school kids to state a pledge what referenced a specific god which indirectly caused these kids to have to abstain due to their religious beliefs. Hopefully that didn't make them feel ostracized, but I'm sure it did to some degree.

It did, but not as much as most of us would have you believe.
In my day JWs and Dukhobors had nothing to do with the National Anthem. We have no pledge because, well we already have an anthem with a tune, why also have a tuneless anthem (which is essentially what the pledge is).

Probably High School.
And I never plan to say any other pledge to any allegiance whatsoever.
My allegiance is to my family and loved ones and no one else.

But you just pledged your allegiance to your family and loved ones.
As for me, the last time I saw Christmas Vacation.
In public? At my daughter's Masters Graduation ceremony.
