Will this be a weekly club meeting? Maybe a weekly club thread to keep us posted on how it goes?

Hoping to do that, we'll see. Just waiting for the cards and supplies. I would love to keep updating as long as the kids enjoy coming.

It's been a while but I can post some good news. I was recently dealing with a student who has been having issues in school. As we were discussing his situation, I notice he's got a sheet of cards in his backpack. We start taking and apparently he likes collecting. Soon I discovered there were some more students who have approached me about collecting.

So at the moment, I have a small group of students that are into collecting hockey cards. I went to shoppers the other night and picked up 8 2015-16 sticker albums as well, panini I think. I also grabbed a few sticker packs.

I'll be using the sticker albums with the younger kids and trading cards with the older ones. I have been purchasing most of the stuff on my own dime however my school has told me that they might be able to scrounge up some cash to purchase more packs if the club works.

If anyone wants to get rid of cards I'd be willing to cover postage. My students really like Calgary, Edmonton, and Anaheim. Others collect the stars, Crosby, Ovechkin, Price, etc. In addition, if anyone has any extra panini stickers they want to get rid of or trade, let me know and maybe we can work something out.

Let me know what you have and what you are looking for. I'm obviously not looking for anything high end at the moment.

    Thanks!

This is a wonderful idea! I will give my 2 cents if/when I have any new ideas to add to this discussion.

Thanks to everyone who has responded to the call so far. Please remember, I am willing to pay for shipping (depending on the amount of cards lol) for cards that are donated. I will also trade or purchase lots that I think the kids might like.

Again, the support offered so far has been great. Thanks!
