Its like buying a new car as soon as you drive it out of the lot it looses a ton of value. Just like the new iphone coming out will it be worth what it is now in a year? No How about the new Laptop you bought or the new TV nothing is the same price as it was when you bought it even its its still in the box its worth what it was. Cards are the same way. When the new hot thing comes out (14-15 cards) everything else goes down.
Also Mackinnon will never put up 130 points Crosby had 104. Galchenyuk will never score 50 goals. Crosby decreased in value. and is the "best" player in the NHL. Its a hobby we aren't investing in a stock market hoping that it goes up.Flickr: Hidden Content

Let me guess... you picked up all the Rask, Weber, Nyquist etc. cards while everyone was wasting their money on the highly touted prospects? Pure comedy indeed.

No.
I stopped collecting in 1995 and started again in 2014...
But I did pick up Nyquist cheap at a LCS
I'm just saying in 3-5 years, the whole picture will change a lot, hockey is very unpredictable with players. Impossible to know the future or else we'd all be rich.

I want variety, that's what I want.. I don't want the same 6 players over and over and over.. At this point I'd be more excited to add a David Desharnais auto in my collection than an other Price.. Get UD? Variety!!
I guess I went off topic here since either of them are RCs.. Meh life goes on!

No I agree I think that's exactly what is needed. For the Pens Guys like Pascal Dupuis, Kunitz, Sutter could be decent hits other than more Fleury Autos. I would love to add some of those autos in Pens Unis. Kunitz has been more prevalent in products recently.
