Box is $100.
They could make a Team World Set...
All the Canadian players are boring anyway
Be nice to see a big patch from Sweden or Finland or something like that.
A nice hard signed Forsberg with a Swedish game used patch or Selanne with Finland...
Yeah right, not in a million years.

As an American I doubt this opinion will matter but Jeez the UD Team Canada stuff is getting old quick. Now I don't mind Team Canada stuff but UD just puts it out in just about everything, why have a Team Canada set when theres already Team Canada cards in several other UD sets.
Let's see if we can put together a list of releases with Team Canada cards/inserts (Feel free to add any I miss):
13-14
Team Canada (stand alone release)
Artifacts (Base, Jerseys, a lot)
Ultimate (has some Team Canada signatures)
SPGU (Team Canada Fabrics)
UD2 (Programme of Excellence)
The Cup (Will likely have Programme of Excellence autos again and previous years have had TC Signature Patchs, Limited Logos, Trios, Quads, etc.).
Those are just the sets I can think of off the top of my head. Don't get me wrong I don't mind Team Canada cards and understand completely why they're made (Canada is the #1 hockey market) but can UD cool it just a bit? If you're going to have a stand alone Team Canada release do you really need Team Canada cards in 5+ other releases? Whats the point of a Team Canada only Product when theres Team Canada in 50% of your other products?

Has to do with the licenses.
Upper Deck has a license with Hockey Canada they do not have one with USA or other countries. Not sure but I believe UD tried to get the USA hockey license but they were unable to come to an agreement. I believe UD had agreements with other countries in the 90's including USA.
I do not think a set for just one country like USA, Sweden or Finland etc would sell enough on a ongoing basis but Team Canada might.
I really liked last year's set. This year's seems to be current Juniors and a way for McDavid to show up in a UD set.

I also am getting a little sick of the Canada cards in regular products. I don't mind any sets that are just Team Canada however I do have a problem when Team Canada show up in my box of Ultimate or Artifacts or whatever it may be. I don't really want any Crosby Team Canada cards it takes all the appeal away from me and probably a lot of Pittsburgh fans in the states.
I really like the idea of Team Canada Junior sets. You can include guys that don't have cards yet like Derrick Pouliot and Mcdavid, Drouin, ect. I have no problem with Team Canada sets that are separate products its not for me I wont buy it. However I just don't like when I pull a Tavares auto in a Team Canada card. I would probably would not buy any Team USA cards if they were in there.Last edited by theboxbreaker96; 09-21-2014 at 01:36 PM.

It's funny, for a couple years after UD took over the Hockey Canada license from ITG, people complained that they didn't do anything with it.
Now, they do one dedicated release per year and sprinkle in some content throughout other products and people complain (in an Olympic year, no less) that they're doing too much.
There really is no satisfying some people.
This release, unlike last year's, focuses very heavily on the prospects, which is something that UD hasn't done in quite a long time. They've always restricted themselves to the guys they already have access to through the NHL/NHLPA license. So in a time where we don't know what we'll be seeing from the new Leaf-run ITG (i.e. Heroes and Prospects) UD has an opportunity to showcase the future of the game.
Of arguably even more importance, for the first in a long time, we get acknowledgment that Canada has a spectacular women's hockey program as well. I know of a few guys that love and collect anything Team Canada and one in particular that is THRILLED that he's able to add national hero Marie-Philip Poulin cards to his collection. It may also be an opportunity for a foothold to get more female collectors into the hobby.
I haven't opened any of the product myself, and haven't looked at it too much. Like many, I'm pretty tapped out from NT. But I think it's cool that there's some new Zach Fucale stuff out there, as well as couple more cards of some of the Kelowna Rockets guys. When the opportunity arises I will likely grab some. It's not a "must have" for me, but not every product is aimed at me and I'm aware of that. LOL
Habs fan and collector! Current PC's: Nick Suzuki, Cole Caufield, and Lane Hutson...., and of course...
