Question for getting blank jersey signed

I recently made a trade for a Cardinals batting practice jersey that was a SGA. It is actually really good quality which was slightly surprising, as the logo on the chest is actually the high quality stitched on type. It is the red jersey, but don't have a player name or number on the back, just blank completely. I made the trade for it in the hopes of getting it signed. I live in St Louis, go to a ton of Cards games, and also send a ton of things ttm to the Cards. My question is this:
What color of marker would you guys recommend? I've only gotten jerseys signed on the numbers before, so I'm kinda out of my element here with this blank one. I plan on making it a "Cards history" jersey, and have anyone that's played for them sign it. Should I go black/blue sharpie? Paint pen? Any help would be greatly appreciated!
