You know what makes the U.S.special and utterly frustrating at the same time?

This whole notion that every freaking state has it's own rules.

So in Oregon, terminally ill patients can get euthanized but not here in Florida.....cuz, Oregon is special.

Wanna smoke weed, SORRY it's illegal...well not in Colorado...but they're special.

Wanna pay to have sex with a complete (but very attractive) stranger?

SORRY, that's illegal....err...not in Nevada though....but again they're special.

I can go on and on give tons of examples.

Just imagine if our daily life was constructed the way this country is...

I agree. I find some laws that differ from state to state to be very odd (age of consent being a major one). I get that it might be bad to have sweeping federal laws, but some laws should have much more consistency. However, as I right this, would some laws have been altered if it were not for a slow progression throughout other more progressive states... for example, civil rights, gay marriage, and so on. I think the same thing will happen for legalization of marijuana as well. After one or two states change their laws, it helps usher in changed perspectives within other states who then follow suit.

"They" starved her to death? seriously dude? "They"? Get over your self, you were and are complicit just am I. My mother suffered the same agonizing death, but I don't delude myself, I was complicit and I agreed to this course of action. I had the choice to say no, lets not "starve her", but I never blamed "they" and washed my hands.

Do you have to be so ignorant? My mother found out she had a form of dementia around her 58th birthday. She actually died at the age of 70 last year (they starved her to death). By the time she hit her 61st birthday she was legally incompetent and unable to make the choice this girl made. First she lost her ability to think, then to talk, then to walk, then to eat. All over a span of 12 years.

This girl was given a medical prognosis by her doctors. One that she was seeing played out as time passed. There was no hope. Some people believe in science and act accordingly. Some people are not so selfish as to put their loved ones through a long protracted death and choose to go out on their own terms as much as they can.

This girl is courageous to a level most can't and never will comprehend. Show her some respect.

Seriously DUDE? They? (Yes they, the nursing home). Unless, I wanted to physically stop her breathing and face murder charges there was nothing I could do other than wait for her to die. I don't give a rat's behind what YOUR choices were. I KNOW what MINE were.

What kind of a friggin idiot judges someone else's experiences without knowing any of the details? Get over yourself!!!

AND, I wasn't blaming anyone. I was stating the facts. Which you know none of.
