wow...
well, this is what the NFL gets for trying to make the pre-season as intense as the regular season.
Vick out for a few games
Pennington out for majority of Jets games
etc etc
it doesn't make sense to treat pre-season games like regular season..b/c you have borderline and sub-par players looking to make big hits to impress the coaches so they will get a job on the team.
Last thing you need is some unknown sub-par player making a vicious tackle on Jerry Rice, resulting in ACL tear, just to impress the coaches

Football is a dangerous sport. You need to know the risks involved before you play. Every play can result in a season ending injury. The above list only confirms that.
