Will be interesting to see a comparison of UD exclusive vs UD/Panini products and where the numbers fall. The press release awhile back suggested a realization that there would be less product releases. If such is not the case then what's the argument for an exclusive. I like UD but if they don't do what's best for the hobby at large then it doesn't matter how many or few manufacturers there are.

    No chance.

They'll flood the market with as many junk sets as they are allowed. Yeah...let's make only 10 sets for the good of the hobby........LOL
    Never.

But we have enough UD followers to eat up all this toilet paper....well I shouldn't dismiss toilet paper as it will keep value way longer...

How many of these sets will have hard signed autos of rookies?
    How long is the wait??

Waiting a year for a decent 14-15 product won't be fun by that time mcdavid will be already playing....

    When is ICE scheduled?

Perhaps it's time for a new hobby?

Indeed, I've put the ignore list to good use, that's enough toilet paper and poo posts to last me a while. I come to these boards frequently to peruse the interesting threads, but have no need for constant negativity for negativity's sake.

On the topic of UD releases, I was virtually positive i saw a Q&A with either an nhl or nhlpa rep shortly after the exclusive was granted saying that UD would be putting out less releases than the total number that UD/Panini combined put out prior to the exclusive, but they didn't get into exactly what 'fewer' meant. Anyone else recall that or am I imagining things?

1.) How many products is Upper Deck to produce per year? Upper Deck will announce that once they have determined the most appropriate schedule and brands for next year, but I can say with certainty that there will be fewer brands in 2014-15 than are scheduled for 2013-14, and in fact there will be fewer brands in 2014-15 than there have been in at least five years. Given the quantity of product in the marketplace at this time, we heard from a number of people in the industry a desire to have less product in the pipeline, and that is something Upper Deck will for 2014-15. After 2014-15, we will annually assess the marketplace with Upper Deck in an effort to put out the right number of releases each year of the agreement.

This is what I thought too, and based on the sets we know are coming, I figured it was around 17 products. However, from what other people have been saying, I am probably wrong.

Why do you even bother posting on here honestly? The only thing you do is bash everything, which seems funny if you are actually in this hobby. And you do know your avatar is an Upper Deck card

I really do not understand the hate for UD hockey products. I love them. They hold the best value and have fantastic designs each year. Some products are not the best but they sure do make some beautiful collectible cards.
