This is a no brainer but I am sure Rev Al and Uncle Jesse will somehow blame the white folks for this woman's outburst. On a funny side note I have 20 years in Corrections and I have been called a "cracker" more times than I can remember. The best part is when I ask the individual if they are aware where the term stems from. I can say without exageration 99% do not. Wonder if this joker does.

The teacher was just expressing her first amendment right and the school district was just expressing their right to fire her.

Let's be honest here, when it comes to racial issues, as white guys, we will never know the kind of hate and discrimination that this woman/teacher has and will endure in her life. She has more of a right to be ticked about the way racial issues continue to be the significant problem in the US that they are than some white guys finding offense in her comments. That that is the case highlights the problem of inequality further.

However, as someone who supports inclusiveness and equality, her comments do alienate me when I am otherwise on her side. It shouldn't be about white vs. black, which it continues to be, but about those who are for inclusiveness and equality (regardless of race) vs. those who only want to see things from their own perspective (regardless of race).


And, as far as my thoughts on Ferguson go, I have always viewed it as a problem stemming from Orwellian rule than from historically-rooted racial tensions. So long as people view it as a racial problem, and not a problem with tyranny, the real issues will go overlooked and unaddressed.

I am not offended by her comments. My point is that she was way out of line and she paid the price. Inclusiveness and equality has been such a struggle because the Sharptons and Jacksons of the world try to make high profile cases about race no matter what the facts are in the situation.

Wrong again. I am on the side of the TRUTH of the situation. Only the officer and Brown know what happened and I am not going to make a judgment on what really happened besides stating that the officer's story is "plausible".
