It was refreshing to see the protests in NYC last night be loud and proud without finding the need to burn down the city. The Eric Garner demonstrators had plenty to be concerned about based on the video (with an unknown other side of the story).
What was the big difference? a lack of bussed in agitators?

I am on the police side for this one. The guy was taken down pretty softly, they could have stunned him, sprayed him, punched, or kicked him, and they didn't.
Him not being able to breath was the start of his cardiac arrest, not the headlock.
now the cleveland police shooting is still up in the air for me.

I wish that we could hear the police side to see if there is anything that could have justified their action. I cannot imagine what it could be, but I would be willing to listen.

How is that the "penalty"?
It is the result of his choices that escalated in him needing to be controlled and that resulted in a heart attack.
He was be arrested, resisted arrest, was restrained, with no striking or weapon, and he had a heart attack.
It wasn't like he was a healthy man in his prime and was giving the ninja heart attack strike because he was selling cigs on the street.
