Baltimore does not surprise me all that much. There are some terrifying areas of town that you can find without trying.
Chicago probably did not make the list because there are many good parts of town.

Right off of Gay street in Baltimore is some violent acts. And that is only 10 minutes from Camden Yards

You do not need to get more than a couple of blocks from the Inner Harbor and/or Camden Yards to find some rough parts of Baltimore.

EXactly the strip club row is a good time but don't turn the corner. Luckily when I take the family to Camden I park right off the highway walk to the stadium and walk bask with no issue. Driving back to the highway you see some shady stuff

It must have moved out of DC metro and into Baltimore. I lived in NoVa and DC during the late 80's and that place was crazy.

DC is the richest city in the US. I mean 4 trillion + dollars pours into that city every year. I think they did a lot of house keeping in the last 20 years. People are buy lamburghini's with cash.

Couple of years ago we spent a week down by Johns Hopkins and let me tell you how uncomfortable that area is after dark.
