Report: Tomas Vokoun retires
Tomas Vokoun has called it a career according to Stephen Whyno of the Canadian Press. The 38-year-old netminder had remained unsigned this year after missing all of the 2013-14 season due to blood clots.
A ninth-round draft pick by the Montreal Canadiens in the 1994 NHL Entry Draft, Vokoun appeared in 700 NHL games over parts of 15 seasons. He spent eight seasons with the Nashville Predators, but also saw 248 games of action with the Florida Panthers. Vokoun also appeared in one game for the Canadiens and spent his last two seasons with the Washington Capitals and Pittsburgh Penguins.
