protesting causes more issues and a police presence will be needed. You have not only paid them for the week but now you pay them some overtime.

So true. People don't understand that.

I think the cops should be the ones protesting. Let people see what it's like without them.

I agree with this 100%. I for one hate some of the laws towards mild marijuana offenders & & other non-violent crimes but we need our peace officers. I think better training in public relations may help but it's just my opinion.

BTW, about the story.....clearly, there is a LOT of hatred for cops going around the country.

There is no doubt about that.

And I myself have shown a BIG displeasure at cops, just like I show a BIG displeasure at Religion and Conservatism...

However, violence is NEVER the answer, and it only begets more violence.

You want to show the cops your displeasure?

    CONTINUE TO PROTEST.

And I URGE and encourage American citizens to perform their constitutional rights to protest in a non-violent and peaceful manner.

Let them know that it is US the citizens who PAY for their paychecks, let them know that their job is to SERVE US....

I believe very much in the power of protests, and I very much approve any and ALL protests AROUND the nation. (As long as they are peaceful and proper)

protesting has never done anything, historically violence was the answer thats why they invented voting, dont like your local police? well depending on local law you can vote in a new police chief, vote in new judges, vote in the guy that appoints judges and police chiefs or better yet get yourself voted in

it got them literally hosed on t.v.,it was the person who took the initiative to run for office, get elected to office and then change the laws that got stuff done

sure the squeaky wheel told us something was wrong but it was the mechanic that went in got dirty and fixed the bearing not the one complaining about the noise

they will tell you to be calm and sit back they will fix it,dont listen, dont be a lamb be a lion take initiative
