Jon Jones tests positive for cocaine
http://espn.go.com/mma/story/_/id/12...tment-facility
UFC light heavyweight champion Jon Jones tested positive for traces of cocaine prior to his eighth title defense last weekend in Las Vegas, according to the Nevada State Athletic Commission.
NSAC executive director Bob Bennett confirmed to ESPN.com on Tuesday that Jones, 27, tested positive for benzoylecgonine, a metabolite of cocaine. Jones informed the NSAC that he had admitted himself into a drug treatment center.
"Jones has checked himself into a rehab center," Bennett said. "And at this time, I would direct any further questions regarding his situation to Mr. Jones or the UFC."

Words can hardly express how upset I am at this news. I was still defending this guy after people were still calling him a jerk following the victory against Cormier. I thought, he even apologized for being classless. Classless people don't apologize for that, so Jones must truly have class. I thought, he's been unfairly maligned in the media. Cormier started much of it, and Jones is only human - he made some bad responses. He must still be a good guy! And all the stuff before, like with Sonnen? I chalked it up to youthful naivete.
Now? I guess the people were right...he's truly a jerk and a fake. :(

As far as I can tell he won't be punished at all because it was "out of competition" when he used.

As a human we all make mistakes, and its ok because we realize them grow and become a better person.
As a sports role model though...it is not ok at all.
I am almost 100% sure the only reason he is doing the rehab is for damage control.
I mean he failed the test back in december 4th way before the fight. For him to suddenly announce rehab days after the fight...coincidence? I doubt it.
The UFC was well aware of his situation, and they probably had long meetings about what should be done.
He did also take a drug test during the week of the fight but that has yet to be released.
I think it's retarded that the substance he tested for is not even a banned substance yet its a common ingredient in cocaine....
If its not a banned substance why was he even tested for it?
A lot of screwy ™™™™ going on with this story.

This is not his 1st time being caught with drugs in his system, White said he won't be stripped of his title, which is totally wrong, if it was anyone else, he would have kicked them out of the UFC and stripped them of there title, it's all about MONEY WITH WHITE.
