Because it shows weakness and shows that were not together with the rest of the world on terrorism. It's really not that difficult to understand preception.

I don't think it shows weakness. I also don't think it shows that he's not fighting against terrorism. The U.S. is a major player in the war on terror. If anything thinks they are not then they just haven't been paying attention.

From what I can find in news outlets and such - the only people upset about this catestrophic diplomic nightmare are...wait for it...Americans.
Now I am sure that with enough digging I will be able to find something somewhere but, as of now, not a thing. Once again American politics is our own worst enemy - no crisis, we can create one out of nothing just to make ourselves look moronic.
I'm not shocked we didn't send our President to an unsecured, open-air venue on short notice. Someone could have gone sure, but anyone outside of Obama would have brought down similar wrath from our own political pundits.

Spot on.
And mind you, the only ones yelling are conservatives....even as another country is still reeling from a devastating tragedy they have to make it all about themselves.
Disgusting.....and I wish conservatives stopped pretending they care about France, because they don't....

Lol, Ground literally doesn't know what he types....
The U.S. is the only major first world country that has been on the front lines on the "war on terror"...
But he's got to pretend to be outraged, if only to take a few more jabs at Obama...
It's hilarious, because as most people have already said in this thread....even if Obama had gone, there is no doubt he would've been criticized.
And also, how smart is it to allow the U.S president to march in an open area as that without proper protection or weeks of preparing the place so that they feel safe?
I swear it's like conservatives don't think before they start blabbing...

As for Obama being a target. That's exactly another point of looking weak. Netanyahu was there for crying out loud. If you think the world didn't take notice of America skipping the rally then you're making excuses.
These liberals don't think before they talk.

So if you are the White House you have to weigh your options -
1) Don't go, remain safe, visit local embassy for personal conversation, get publicly blasted by the press for behavior
2) Rush to go, show world you have "balls", risk potential catastrophe, get publicly blasted by the press for behavior
