    Gretzky OPC Rookie "Altered"?

So I picked this up not too long ago, originally I thought that beckett just said it was authentic (hence the box around authentic) and not altered since it wasn't boxed in. I was under the impression that whoever sent it in only wanted to see if it was real or not and didn't want to get a specific grade, so they didn't grade it. However doing further research it seems like the card is authentic but is also "altered" in some way. Not sure what to make of this or the value of it. Book value is $500 to $800 so how much would this bring the card down? If anyone has any knowledge about this sort of stuff please feel free to post.

    Thanks!

Can't tell if it is just the scan with it being in the holder but it looks like it might have been trimmed. That along with a couple other things would register an altered card. With OPC most of the time it will be trimmed that will trigger it.
