US to US Shipping: What is reasonable?

Working for the USPS, I know I can mail a Flat Rate Priority Box (small - size of video tape) for $5.25. I could safely pack several cards in there with padding and/or bubble wrap.

I usually don't buy cards that need insurance, but realize it does cost extra. However, most priority mail shipped with USPS includes $50 insurance for free.

At what price, do you consider shipping prices, USA to USA, to be excessive (or just "padding the profit"). Would $15 shipping on a $25 card be too much?

Shipping within the USA for a single card under $50 value should always be under $3 unless requested otherwise by the buyer. More expensive cards - Priority Mail at $6 or $7 at the most depending upon packaging/insurance.

I generally charge $2 flat rate and haven't lost money on shipping. I don't worry too much if someone is making 50-60 cents off of me on shipping, but if it creeps up above $1 or so I'll usually skip those auctions or (in the rare case that I really need/want the card(s)) leave less than max stars on shipping rating (which I know shocks some people, but just because I agree to the terms by bidding doesn't mean I have to like them or leave the best feedback).

I cannot imagine a (reasonable) scenario where a $15 shipping charge on a $25 card would be acceptable.

Agree 100%. I do recognize that there is more involved in shipping than just paying potage. I guess it rubs me the wrong way to see an card I want for a low price only to realize the shipping is in the $15-$20 range. That's the seller who is padding their profit.

Absolutely too excessive in my book. I could hand deliver it for $15 lol.

It costs me $3.37 to ship within the US. I do use Delivery Conformation. If its a more expensive card I use Priority $6-$7 as above. I wouldn't pay $15 on shipping in the US ever unless its a huge amount cards.
