UD2 Exclusives question
Pulled these 3 exclusives from UD2 box :
Burakovsky YG 066/100
Halak base exclusive 001/100
Havalat high gloss exclusive 03/10
Are any of the above high trade value cards? If they are how high?

Define "high value" - you're looking at maybe $5 for the Halak, $20 for the Havlat, not sure how strong Burakovsky is right now but the YG Exclusives are usually pretty popular.

First of all, with Exclusives, price points depend solely on the wielder of the card. Some people hold onto the notion that they are super rare and worth their weight in gold and put commons up on Ebay for $30 (and they stay there unsold until the owner gets tired of relisting them). There are others who are more realistic and realize that even though they are numbered to 100, there are only so many people that care about them. Commons seldom sell on Ebay for more than a couple bucks. I collect Exclusives team sets of Sharks and Capitals and will not pay more than $5 (incl shipping) for a common. If you can find an Islanders fan that also likes goalies, you may be able to get $10 for Halak, but I suspect that would be the best possible scenario.
With YGs, its all about the hype surrounding the rookie. Again, you will always have people that hold to the Young Guns meme and the Exclusives name and think that card would never be worth less than $100. You can constantly search Ebay and see Young Guns Exclusives of guys who never played more than 3 games in the NHL and have been retired for years, and people are still asking $30 for those cards. Those simply will never sell. The hottest rookies always sell for the most (obviously). I haven't looked, but I suspect an Exclusives of Gaudreau would probably sell for over $100 right now. Burakovsky is in the middle tier or rookies -- people have heard of him, but he hasn't been spectacular this year. As with ALL rookie cards, they are seldomworth more than when they first get released. Unless the player goes on to win a Cup or two (and he is a major part of that team) or he wins some awards, his cards WILL go down.
The first couple Burakovsky Exclusives went for around $30-35 on Ebay (I am watching because I will buy one eventually). There were half a dozen on Ebay last time I looked. Unless he suddenly gets hot or the Caps win the Cup, that'll be $20-$25 by the end of the season. I will probably wait until next season to pick one up in the $10-$20 range (so long as he doesn't score 20 goals between now and the end of the season and win the Calder).
As for the High Gloss, the limited PR prevents any reasonable logic to predict. It all comes down to being able to find a buyer. An HG of Gaudreau's YG would be worth probably a few hundred dollars at least. Of a common, who knows? Because of the limited PR, you wont have anybody looking to complete a set -- even just a team set of HGs would be extremely difficult to try to put together. So your only real market is someone who collects that particular player. If it was Toews or Crosby, it would be worth a lot of money. Unfortunately, I don't think there are many Havlat collectors out there any more. You could put it up on Ebay, but I think your chances of getting 99 cents for it are greater than your chances of getting $20 or more. I recently purchased three 10+ year-old HG commons (#/25 back then) for $5 each.SHARKS and CAPITALS Fan +++ Tomas Hertl cards: 512 & counting Hidden Content ...... Hidden Content
