ITG Motown Madness question
Hey guys,
Today I saw a Mike Vernon auto from Motown Madness pop up on eBay. Normally I would have written it off, but since it was from a very reputable dealer (Steel City) I picked it up.
My question to you all is has anyone heard of this card being produced or seen any others? I have gone through my checklist for the autos several times as well as from the ITG website and a few other sites, but it was left off.
Here it is...it definitely looks nice in person

I had that on my watch list and was thinking about picking it up myself, nice snag.
You're absolutely right about it not being listed on any checklist, I'm not seeing it listed anywhere either. Not sure what to think, maybe try and email ITG or message Dr. Price on the boards and hope he answers.

Interesting... I have opened 20+ boxes of this product and of course bought a lot of singles on the secondary market but I have not come across this card before. Off the top of my head of course, so I am interested in finding out some info on this card. I know Dr Price was on the forums earlier this week so maybe he can be contacted about the issue.
Keep us posted :)Master List: Hidden Content

Sounds like a pretty super-duper short print. Maybe it wasn't even supposed to hit the market but a couple slipped out? We've had that happen before with some cards. Unusual for it not to be on a checklist, and yet there it is.
Great snag for you!

Well I have sent Dr Price a message here n hopes that he will respond with some answers. Thanks for that suggestion guys, I didn't realize he was still active on the boards. Once I have it in hand I'll probably email ITG as well.
Matt- I'm glad I was able to snag it. Still a few more left to complete the set now. I had figured if I didn't get it, someone from the boards would snag it. It was a tough debate, but I didn't want to let it slip by.
Cunnuc- I have done the same thing, and was not expecting to find something that wasn't on the list.
Richard- I'm thinking that's what happened but if not I want to know how it got out. Either way I'm excited to have what seems to be the only copy to surface so far.Last edited by redwingfn7; 03-20-2015 at 08:39 PM.

Question for you. Have you had any luck finding any of the SP autos recently? I am also attempting to complete the base auto set, but with such a lower print runs on most of the SP's it seems impossible. I was able to complete the base jersey set though including all SP's. Those were also tough to find.

I have found a few SP's on eBay in the last month or two, but for a long time I wasn't even looking. Haven't seen many of the better SP cards though. They're getting harder and harder to find but I know I will be buying a half-case at the next Spring Expo. I imagine some sellers or businesses on eBay will be opening cases of older ITG products as their own prices are reduced. I'm master-collecting ITG Captain C and ITG Decades 90s as well and lately have seen the same seller have a lot of these cards. I am guessing they opened up a few cases to sell them as singles on eBay.

During the past couple of years ITG made unique Show Redemption cards for most of its products. Is it possible that your Vernon falls into that category?

The SP autos are very hard to come by now. Out of the 22 cards I still need, 12 are SP. I am working on all the memorabilia sets as well (though taking my time with them). My white whale for now is the Teammates red of Delvecchio/Dionne /9. I had one in my sights, but was out snipped on ebay. If you fall across one at the expo, I would be very interested in crossing that set off my list!
