Leaf reveals some new upcoming products
http://www.beckett.com/news/2015/03/...on-gregg-kohn/
We are currently working on Leaf Signatures Series Hockey and an ultra high end product called Pearl that will be introduced in hockey and then will follow in other sports. Leaf Metal Hockey has been a very well received addition to our hockey portfolio and we will at doing more technology-based or unique substrate-based products in the future.
Ultra high end? I don't like the sound of that. How much is that going to cost?Selling all my cards here updated as of May------------> Hidden Content

"Pearl" is a terrible name. Hopefully they can come up with something a little more hockey-centric.
I'm intrigued by some of the new additions to subsets in Superlative - I love me some acetate autos.
Habs fan and collector! Current PC's: Nick Suzuki, Cole Caufield, and Lane Hutson...., and of course...

Maybe its Pearl as in Pearly Whites featuring the first ever game used tooth cards!
Probably not but it would be different lol.
Can't wait to see what Leaf comes up with!

Especially from a non licensed product with airbrushed cards. Sounds like a true dud to me.

Enough of the badgering. My god. If you dont like ITG/Leaf than stop commenting on their products.
Pearl sounds nice to me. I get the complete opposite reaction than some people apparently. Am I going to buy any? Not likely considering Ive never bought The Cup before. Then again I'm back to work for the Union making good money and I want to open a ton of older ITG products and may exclusively collect ITG/Leaf products from now on. That is the way my collection has been leaning towards for years anyways but I do want to buy UD Masterpieces pretty heavily.
Leaf Signature Series, like ITG Be A Player Signature Series (I presume) hard-signed autos, complete set, first-time auto cards... if that is the case then I am a buyer.
Leaf Gregg and Dr Price active on the forums... I said in another Leaf-bashing-thread that it would be a good 2 years for ITG/Leafs' hobby contributions and direction to be realized and I intend to give them those 2 years. So let's see some new products already cause I am dying to bust some ITG!Master List: Hidden Content

So we can only comment if we are very much pro-ITG/Leaf? I must have misread the forum rules. Thank you for educating me.

Go to some of the other ITG/Leaf threads and read the comments there. I'm not the only one that has said this.
Some people haven't bought ITG or ITG/Leaf and never intend to yet they still go out of their way to tell people how much of a pile of crap the company is. It's like writing a review on a product you've never used.

Anytime I see a thread regarding a new product, Leaf/ITG, UD, formally Panini..... I'm at least interested in what they're offering me.
My tastes? I do not purchase high end products. $100-$150 is about my max range for wax. Therefore, this product probably isn't for me. A Group break? Yeah, maybe. Depends on the style, what the cards are going to be. Singles? That will depend on the checklist, but I would bet there's a really good chance they'll make something I want to own.
I'll be the first to say that some of the changes Leaf has made, I have not been a big fan of. I'll wait & see how the reconfiguration of H&P goes before I judge..... BTP was always one of my favorite sets, it's gone. I'm not a big fan of the airbrushed action shots, I'd prefer to see head shots instead (and I know lots of people didn't like them). I think giving them a bit of time to find their niche in the hobby, before writing them off, is (at least for me) the best way to go.
What's very tiring is seeing comments about a "non licensed product with airbrushed cards". We all get it. Some people don't like it. That's fine by me (I would NEVER suggest to anyone that what I like to collect is what they should) but if you've never purchased an ITG/Leaf product (since you don't like non licensed cards) why in the world do you go into every single thread involving one, reminding us all of the fact that you don't like non licensed cards? It's about as useful as a comment as other posts that go on and on and on about how overpriced UD products are, because they'll be filled with dollar bin jersey cards.
I don't really collect other sports, but I have to wonder if the non licensed / airbrushed / junk comments apply to Upper Deck baseball??

I don't like the look of most of Leaf's stuff, and I don't intend to buy it specifically because I don't like it. That's my opinion. Do I have to physically hand over money and hold something in my hands to not like it? I know I don't like ISIS, but maybe they're good guys once you get to know them. I'll invite them over for some ice cream some time.
And of the three comments above, only one was kind of useless (airbrushed cards). One was a legitimate issue (not liking the sounds of "ultra high-end", which I agree with) and the other was a legitimate issue (stupid name) WITH a positive comment regarding recent additions to Superlative.
I'm not for or against any company; I like what I like and I don't like what I don't like. If I don't like it, I'd like to think I can voice my opinion without someone's panties getting so tightly bunched up that it forces them to make bad analogies.

Pearl is going to be a high end product that will feature hard signed autographs and some very cool technology and some surprises. It is still in it's initial concept stages. I like the name! :) I remember not liking Exquisite while at UD, but it grew on me. I find no issue with people giving reasons why they like or dislike any product. I have learned after all these years in this crazy industry that you will never please everyone, just try and hear everyone is what I do. Even if someone doesn't like Leaf/ITG or hates the no logo situation, it doesn't mean they don't have some valid points. The airbrushing situation is tough, but at the end of the day it was either using the same grainy head shots used each year, or try for better photography. No easy answer. Any questions about H&P or Superlative...LMK guys
