Thoughts on Sketch Cards
Stumbled upon these Artist Sketch cards and am impressed.

Chances are they are probably homemade, and unlicensed (even thought they do have the NHL logo on them) but they are nice looking cards. Great design, nice spot for an autograph. UD has inserted licensed sketch cards in some of their products, but these look nicer.
Definitely would not consider them true trading cards, but might still pick up one or two.
How do y'all feel about these?Hidden Content

Don't like any of them. I want pictures of men, not drawings of them.
Habs fan and collector! Current PC's: Nick Suzuki, Cole Caufield, and Lane Hutson...., and of course...

Whomever made them has talent. I have no issue with them being put out there (they're basically selling artwork) and looking at the one in there... they do look really cool signed.

I love any type of art cards, whether it's sketches, paintings, etc., probably a large part of it comes from my amazement at what artists with talent can do (whereas my artistic skills sadly are no better than they were in preschool, even my stick figures look awful).
I'd love to add more, but here's what I've got so far...
Found an artist Brad Utterstrom who posted a bunch of work he'd done on one of the other forums and he did these for me as a custom job...

While I didn't get Brad to do it on an Artist's Proof card (they cost more) I did get one from Chris Henderson - Leaf gave each artist who did custom sketch cards for their Best of Hockey release (not the most recent one, but the previous iteration of the set) some additional card stock to do whatever they liked with it, so you're getting nice quality card stock just like would have been included in the actual product.

Also love what ITG did with Ultimate Memorabilia, at first I thought they just got an artist to do one sketch and then printed the whole print run with copies of that image, but when I saw multiple copies of these surface I realized that they actually had unique art done for each card in the print run - I've got 3 of the x/4 (would love to find the fourth, as well as the gold 1/1).

I honestly love sketch cards. If the sketches are good, that is. I especially like sketches of players in the midst of their game, the more detail the better, like a player having messed up hair after the helmet is off.
I really admire the artwork and the artists themselves and I've always been into drawings, paintings etc.
Love sketch cards, don't own too many but I do want to get into having sketches of every Red Wing I've watched while growing up. There was someone on these boards offering sketches of anyone for $20. The samples I did see looked very nice and I would easily pay $20 for a nice Yzerman, Lidstrom or Wendel Clark as a wing. etcMaster List: Hidden Content

Like them when they are done well.
ITG Enshrined? Good.
ITG Heroes & Prospects? Not so good.
I cannot think of the artists name for ITG at the moment (and I just saw his "booth" at the ITG Expo Booth), but it was fun watching him draw, I believe some of the Enshrined, the one year I was there. Nice guy too.
