The downward spiral of one J. Dennis Hastert
Former House Speaker gets indicted for lying to the FBI about monies paid to "cover up past misconduct."
And now it emerges that "misconduct" in this case appears to be a euphemism for "sexual relations with a male student," in this case one who is underage.
http://www.cnn.com/2015/05/29/politi...ent-questions/
Didn't he resign from the House partially due to his failure to report his fellow R-FL Mark Foley, who was also was engaged in similar "misconduct" laden acts?
Anyone care to guess how Uncle Denny voted on the Marriage Protection and Employment Non-Discrimination Acts?
Another good showing for the party of family values.

A) this guy hasn't held office for 8+ years, so what he does has jack diddly with the party...unless you want to start digging up dirt on some of your beloved Democrats and their activities after they left office
B) How he voted on the Marriage Protection and Employment Non-Discrimination Acts is irrelevant. Special laws to prevent discrimination for sexual preference are redundant. There are already laws in place preventing discrimination on any basis. If he voted against a law that did something that was already done then he did the right thing and the moron that proposed and supported it was wasting government time and money.

Ahh, Duane strikes with his standard response. "But but but but but but YOUR DEMOCRATS ARE WORSE!" conveniently ignoring the fact that A. I'm not a Democrat and B. the Democrats' sins won't make a Republican a saint. Next time I'll just write it for you and save you the time, deal?

Does lying to the FBI get you jail time or is it only a crime when you are an elected official?

Bottom line...you are making a big deal over a guy who hasn't held office for nearly a decade doing something. Snore. Things must be getting pretty desperate on the Democratic side if you guys need to dredge up a retired politician doing something to try and redirect attention away from the pathetic state of your party as of late.

Well if you did not throw the dig you would not have got that kind of response. Just say this piece of garbage lied and is a child molester don't point out the "family value party" dig. Unless of course your like Alex and try to stir and run

And yet there are plenty of Republicans out there who still whine about Bill Clinton. There are Democrats who whine about Bush. The fact is he held the third highest office in the nation for eight years. Pretty sure someone in that high of a position should be held to a pretty high standard regardless of the timeframe.
But sure, defend a scumbag. That's cool.

You have to admit it's just a little creepier when it's a member of that particular party who gets busted for it.

Aside from any sort of R vs D discussion the guy seems very shady and hopefully he'll be punished if he in fact did all of the things they claim he did.
