Why Pursuing Steven Stamkos as an UFA Makes Sense for Toronto
If I were newly-minted Leaf GM Lou Lamoriello, I would seriously consider pursuing Steven Stamkos when and if he becomes an unrestricted free agent (UFA) on July 1, 2016.

This would be a dream as a Maple Leaf fan but something that has much likelihood of happening as the Leaf's winning the cup in the next 10 years. There's no reason for him to leave a winning franchise in Tampa with all the young talent they have for any team in the league let alone a sad sack franchise that is starting from scratch.
