    Best Set Ever...

Alrighty, now before anyone comes along saying, "Vintage is so much better then new-times cards!" No offense but I beg the differ. You see... when you buy/sell/trade vintage football cards you're normally looking to finish a set or get a nm/mint rookie of one of the big superstars. However some people do get certain vintage cards for there own collections. But I will let you know what I think "The Best Set Ever" is...

    Main Set
1999 SP Authentic ~ #1-90 Includes both Veterans & Young Stars. #91-145 Includes the Best Rookies from 1999, these Rookie cards are also Serial Numbered to 1999. (McNabb, Williams, James, Couch, Zereoue, Culpepper, Holt, etc.)

    Parallel Set
1999 SP Authentic Excitement ~ This parallel set features the main set cept for the fact that the cards are serial numbered to only 250.
1999 SP Authentic Excitement Gold ~ This parallel set is the same, features the entire base set but the "Gold's" are only serial numbered to 25.

    Insert Set
1999 SP Authentic Athletic ~ This insert set is filled with proven superstar veterans. The cards themselves have a nice look to them.

1999 SP Authentic Buy Back Autographs ~ This set is all out sweet. UD buys back their own product gives them to players to sign and makes the print runs no higher than 117 and as low as 1. Imagine pulling a 1/1 Auto of Jerry Rice or Drew Bledsoe?

1999 SP Authentic Maximum Impact ~ This insert set has a decent look to it. It's Checklist ranges from Jerry Rice to Brett Favre. Need I say more? Good! Then I will... ;)

1999 SP Authentic New Classics ~ This is the insert set I liked the most. It features younger NFL athletes from as way back as 1995. Given' it had only been four years since they came out of college, even though they seem old now.

1999 SP Authentic NFL Headquarters ~ The insert set gives off a "snowy" look. But it is ok, I've seen alot worse. If these were #ED that'd be 100% better.

1999 SP Authentic Player's Ink ~ Autographs! Where can you go wrong with Auto's? These cards have a nice look to them I think. I mean Auto's rule man!

1999 SP Authentic Rookie Blitz ~ Thie insert set is only of rookies from the 1999 season. It has a nice feel to it and they book decently... if you pull a good athlete. ;)

1999 SP Authentic Supremacy ~ This is an sweet looking insert set. I liked it alot. Pictured is Couch's card. I like the look of the cards because of the reflector type look.

    Parallel/Insert Set

1999 SP Authentic Player's Ink Level 2 Purple ~ I ask myself what's better then an Auto? Answer? A serial numbered auto! These are all #ED/100 I do believe. There are some very good & talented stars in this sub-set also!

I'm kind of partial to the 1989 Score Football set myself. Great set with RC's of many future Hall of Famers (Sanders, Aikman, Tim Brown, Chris Carter, Thurman Thomas). Plus it doesn't have all of these fancy dancy insert cards that seem to have become the main focus of collecting today. This set has "just shut up and play football" written all over it.

Your total right CaliforniaSoxfan. But the "fancy dancy" insert sets make collecting sets that much better. :D
