    Custom Suggestions

I really like making customs. I'm really not great at it. I've never taken a photoshop or graphics class. Here is what I have though. Just looking for thoughts or suggestions. Which one you like the best helps too.

The idea is to make a template for Chiefs that I will then go back and just change the name, making a set of customs for index sized cards. I watched a youtube on gimp 2 to make the berry name. Everything else is what I know and can muster from paint and powerpoint. There are somethings I do and do not like already about these. Does anyone know if when I print the bottom two will they come out looking like that or like the slide in powerpoint. The slide font for the "Red & Gold Standard" isn't as flat and smashed in the slide.

I like what you've done so far and recommend using GIMP. That is what I use for my customs.

I used GIMP to create the "BERRY" but I just stumbled upon a video showing me how. I don't have any idea what I'm doing there.

I started out the same way as you. Trial and error and watching tutorials. I use the insert text tool for any text I use. I save my templates in .xcs format which has the layers in it.

If I want to use one template for multiple cards I create a border to start out with by getting a sample card. Then I make sure the layer has an alpha channel (can have layers appear from underneath it). I erase the space in the card where a picture would go. I open up my player's picture and paste it into gimp as another layer. I make sure it is underneath the template layer and then just position it accordingly.

I like the top left card BTW. I have created a few and focus on cards that never were.
