It's the perfect time for a buyback product. Singles have never been priced lower. This way they keep making big profits on the same stuff. Brilliant.

I'll be keeping my eye out for some of the Auto'd buy-backs. Those are the gems of this product IMO. The "Vintage Buybacks", there are obviously some great cards in there - but many look to me like they're not buy-backs at all, rather cards they never packed out. Regardless, there will be nothing to differ them from the original cards released. If you pull the Crosby Cup ARP /99, that's a good thing..... some of the other cards? A stamp & COA might make them more valuable.

May keep an eye out for some of those limited Fleury's, though I doubt my wallet will let me aquire any when it's all said and done. Some of those UD Canvas autos will look great though.

What a strange release. I'm not usually the negative type on card releases but this one doesn't make sense to me as a collector. Most of the cards in that release are already available in the secondary market. I mean who wants to hit a Kostisyn Cup RC. I do like signed Young Guns but if I was say a Parise collector and I wanted a signed YG, it wouldn't be tough to find a signing and send him a YG for ink. I mean alot of these cards could be out together TTM for the cost of a $2 single and stamps.

The advantage, of course, of getting the buyback edition of any of these YG's will be the COA that accompanies it.
Habs fan and collector! Current PC's: Nick Suzuki, Cole Caufield, and Lane Hutson...., and of course...

The Parise YG you send out via TTM will be worth pennies compared to the one you pull out of this

Upper Deck has permission to have an exclusive Buy-Back product this year. Like two companies being allowed to have very similar sets and sub-sets the same year. Upper Deck is filling the void of not having both ITG and Leaf buying back their products this year and re-releasing them. An exclusive buy-back release though is immoral to me an obvious cash-grab in an ever-sinking economy. Well done once again, Upper Deck. Well done.
Of course, it's my vices that make me want a few of these cards.
I bought a Leaf Best of Hockey 01-02 Jersey Auto /50 Steve Yzerman (encased, no 1/1 stamp) for $42. Sold it for $160. As much as I would love to have kept that card sometimes you cannot ignore a profit margin like that. It sickens me that ITG or Leaf buy backs can consistently go for so little but when Upper Deck does it the cards will go for exponentially more in some cases.
October 28th. Upper Deck - License to Shill. Coming to an LCS near you!Master List: Hidden Content

I do agree that it won't be worth as much, but the cost to acquire will be pennies and it is the same card, a young guns signed by Parise. And it won't be worth pennies on the dollar compared to the buyback unless you see that same Parise going for a few thousand dollars. I don't know what these cards will sell for but I would guess a multiplier of 2-3x, no where near 10-25x. And no it won't have a COA but I can get one by having it slabbed PSA/DNA.
That's just me, I would acquire these TTM or in person signings. I do get that pack issued will be a big draw for player collectors, maybe that's where my confusion on this issue comes in, I'm not player focused. Maybe collectors will pay a massive premium for a pack issued signed YG.
