A Collarbone is a lot different. very little to no muscle supports it. once you break it it becomes your weak link. after this if he ever goes down like he did last night it will snap like a tooth pick, not to mention it has a lot to do with holding everything together up there... and up there is where you get a lot of your strength and stability for your shot.. it'll be interesting to see him shoot the puck after he heals up.
having said that i hope he has a speedy recovery and that he comes back better and stronger then ever. not for us or his card value but for him and the game. it's been great watching them come together as a team over the last 12 games, and he is huge in that dynamic.

This is a very tough sight to see for Oilers fans. Not going to lie, one of the first thoughts when I heard the news were his RC prices (Hey, I am a collector after all), but I don't think it will effect his YG prices too much. He's still a very talented young player.
As for prices moving forward, who knows. He's a young guy, so maybe he's back sooner than we think. If he plays when upon his return, watch out, those prices will be through the roof again.
This injury was at a the worst time though. Brutal.Jhonas Enroth Card Collector & Host of the Hidden Content

Awww those poor people pre-selling. NOOOO!!! Say it ain't so.
McDavid is a totally different #1 pick than anyone in that 10 years. He's good. He is a different type of good and has excellent potential. It's going to be exciting to watch his progress and see how his potential plays out. Yes this injury sucks. It is one hurdle in his very long competition that is his career.
All these people worried about their money or money that won't be getting is comical at best. Send the guy flowers, ya, funny. Sell at a loss if you wanna jump the gun. This happened at the most opportune moment... you would think. I for one do not think this affects his value AT ALL. You could potentially get a good deal from someone that is soooo worried about his future but other than those rare occurances this will not affect his value.Master List: Hidden Content
