    Question Box busting 101

Okay so any advice on how to bust a box and break even if not come out ahead $ wise?

I've recently gotten back into collecting basketball after a 10 yr. break in collecting. I've really enjoyed topps 52 Style so far this yr.

Topps seems to be more reasonable then say some of the Upper Deck box's at least for a Military guy like myself, but I would be willing to bust something like UD if I knew how. I've heard Topps Chrome is pretty good to bust?

Any info. would greatly be appreciated !

topps chrome and finest are good.

chrome is cheap and comes with many parallels and nice looking cards. my only beef with them is that a) i hate nbdl players and b) the cards in the pack are often curved (bent w/o a crease)

finest is a bit more expensive. not as much of a bending problem as chrome but it still exists. plenty of parallels, but also a ton of base. one box will get you 90% if not more. i don't really like base which is why i like to bust higher end products, but it can't be avoided in this case i guess.

bowman elevation is coming out...sounds like a great product, but is pricey as well. expect to pay around 150 for a box. i think you're guaranteed 5 gu's and a total of 7 auto or gu cards per box with 14 rookies.

i like luxury box EXCEPT for the fact that the cards chip VERY EASILY. it comes with 5 gu's and an auto on average i think. you also get a rookie per pack. higher end around the same price as finest, but you get fewer cards, and it is harder to complete a set.

sp authentic...sucks. you'll get a full base set, duplicates, and 2 autos on average. unless you like base, it's not worth spending money on.

oh and if you want to make money, buy as many exquisite boxes you can afford. store them in your closet for a few years then resell them.
