Picked this up for a few bucks on a whim a few years back. One sold for $70 bucks a couple of weeks ago. Crazy.

One of my favorite cards I've bought in the last few years.

Vince Carter / Zach Randolph Immaculate /49 auto

Little story to go along with it.

My wife's grandfather passed away on Sunday, and drove from Memphis to Atlanta for the funeral on Monday. When we got back on Tuesday, my daughter and I drove to pick the dog up from boarding. As we're walking up, I see this tall dude in a baseball cap through the window - his back is turned to us. When we get inside, he turns around as he's leading his three dogs out to the car.

    Vinsanity.

Apparently we board our dogs at the same place, and he was picking his up after their three-game road trip. Three TINY puppies (Boston Terriers, maybe?).

That's the beauty of having a small-market team...we see Grizz players out fairly frequently. Tony Allen eats at places near my house all the time, we've seen Pau Gasol (back in the day) on a date at the bowling alley, we used to see Shane Battier at this one particular bar with frequency, ran into Quincy Pondexter at Target and Kosta Koufos at Walgreen's. One day my brother was in town, and we went to pick up a pizza. I look to my left and am eye level with some dude's waist. Big Jake Tsakilidis. Mike Fratello (when he was coaching here) used to eat by himself at that same pizza place all the time.

    Go Grizz!

Like the a Vince story! Very fun meeting the celebs and seeing the different ways it happens! Going to play off the R in Randolph.

Rudy Gay...one of my least favorite Grizzlies of all time. I'll never forgive him for NOT getting eye surgery or being willing to wear contacts until after he left here. If you're in an occupation where being able to see matters (which is basically all occupations) then man up and get your eyes fixed. Especially when, say, you need to be able to see the basket to throw that orange ball into.

"“I did have vision problems,” Gay confesses, sitting up on the trainer's table after Gray finishes stretching out his muscles. “Actually, it was terrible. I could hardly get my license.” The National Post reported that he refused to wear the contact lenses he desperately needed, which was correct: “I have a stigma about that stuff — I can't put anything up my nose and I can't touch my eyes. I think that just comes from me growing up seeing people on drugs — I got over my stigma of needles, but I couldn't do any of that other stuff. I couldn't wear contacts. I wore glasses, sometimes.

Gay has required contact lenses for a few years, but hated wearing them. So he considered wearing goggles at one point, but couldn't ever get comfortable with them either. Instead, he just played halfway blind, which doesn't seem all that wise considering the precision required to throw the basketball through the hoop."

    What a punk.

Moving on...not bitter or anything LOL

This is one of my favourite Memoribilia pieces in my collection. Got this shortly after they ripped the Lakers in 07-08 Finals.
