New to the site

Hi everyone, I just wanted to introduce myself... I'm from Victoria BC Canada and found SCF while looking for a place to trade my duplicates...

I started collecting cards in the early 70's (OK dated myself now) and had very early baseball and hockey cards going back to the 50's and 60's... After collecting "boxes" of cards, my folks at the time felt they took up too much room (along with comic books that I had) and tossed them all... Sad times...

I remember playing card games with Wayne Gretzky rookie cards as they were so common back then...

Today, my son plays minor hockey and has started collecting cards, which has brought me back and brought me here to SCF...

Together we're collecting (OK he's collecting and I'm helping him out) Upper Deck Artifacts cards... Took a while to figure out what brand/type of cards to collect for him, as the cards I used to collect came in a wax paper wrapper with bubble gum! We settled on the Artifacts cards and hope that was a good choice... Back in the day I kept all my cards in a shoe box, but with collecting and the value of cards nowadays, we keep everything in clear plastic card wrappers...

I'm really looking forward to meeting all of you on the forum and look forward to future trades...
