    2016 Cards

Has anyone heard of any new news on who might release racing cards for 2016?

There were rumors on BO Forums about Panini picking up the license but its just hearsay at this point. I've talked to some LCS owners who attend a lot of shows/ cons and no one has heard a peep. Looks like older product is noticeably drying up too :(

I check here, Blowout and Beckett every couple of days hoping to hear something. I can't believe its been a year already with no new product. So many talented new drivers without autos...

No one wants the license because NASCAR is going downhill and losing fans left and right.

It would be cool if someone picked it up and did Race used from the older drivers.

Here is what I know-Topps was interested in the brand but there are two main issues-location (being NC for most the teams/drivers etc) and the amount of money Nascar wants for the license. It is also a major headache to get individual sponsors approved etc for each card-in essence it takes more work than most sports-and although there is still a market for it it would not be big enough to fit the value unless the company who invested did a great job of marketing and application (see what Panini does at NFL games etc for example). It would take something like that for it to work-or a small startup to try something.

i know it sucks but but what if they didn't have pictures of the cars, and kinda faded out sponsors on the firesuits, kinda like they've done for beer sponsors and things in the past, basically a racing version of sage hit, at least it would help somebody get there foot in the door

I think anything at this point would be a step in the right direction.

I'd rather not have cards than have to chase ugly crap like this if I'm being honest.
