I just picked up a Karl Malone gold that says 1 of 2. I was thinking sweet pickup. Then happend to see two more listed online. At first I was $%&^$&^%$ is mine a fake? Then I started looking more, and am wondering, are these sets supposed to be of each piece of the logo. So say there are 2 of each piece in my case. Anyone have any ideas?
Here are some links for examples, none of which are mine, just reference:

Nope they are most likely parallel version. Not worth much $10 max.

It looks like the color of the borders are different around where the patch is.

They all look the same gold parallel to me. The scans aren't picking the gold up well which may be why others think they're parallels.
I'd say you're correct in that it's two of each logo. Definitely not fakes.

To tell between the silver and gold easily is the 1 of X number. The gold is of 2 and the silver is of 15. I actually printed out a Lousiana Tech Bulldog Logo and roughly traced out 3 rows and 5 columns. I then started looking for images and found 7 of the 15 images I think makes it up. If that is the case, then I think this is what is really is:
There are 15 "silver sets" and 2 "gold sets". Each set is 15 cards each (one for each piece of the logo. Making a total of 225 silver cards and 30 gold cards (15 x 15 and 2 x 15).
I also found this image for the Jordan. It is pre production, (there is not the 1 of 15 number on it), but definately looks nice when all put together:
