    PayPal Fees Changing in April

    Well isn't this delightful...

PayPal fees for international transactions from Canada will be going (guess which way) up in April.

It will be a 3.7% + Fixed Fee Rate for all international transactions.

Rate effective as of April 13, 2016:
0.8% (added to the Transaction Fees for US Sales)
1.0% (added to the Transaction Fees for International Sales (excluding the US))

So transactions to the US will now have a 4.5% fee for the seller, and 4.7% for other international transactions.

I guess it's a good thing we're all friends and family here eh?

Habs fan and collector! Current PC's: Nick Suzuki, Cole Caufield, and Lane Hutson...., and of course...

It pays to be a pal.

With eBay fees that's close to 15% not including the cost of shipping supplies/postage

I thought paypal fees are 2.9%? So with the increase, it is 3.8% for US transactions? and 3.9% for international?

Or am I missing something else?

    I agree 100%.

I seem to be in the minority that do not have PayPal. My situation does not permit me to have it.

Everybody keeps telling me to "get with the 21st century"...until they find out what my situation is.

Problem is, most people on ebay only accept PayPal as payment. Many people won't accept a money order because it violates ebay's terms. I don't think PayPal should be the only payment option on ebay. Money is money. I realize ebay owners can do as they wish, but it is kind of discriminatory to only allow PayPal as a form of payment.

Seeing the original post of this thread, I am ecstatic that I don't have PayPal.

it's going to encourage Canadians to deal in Canadian dollars, I'd imagine.
