Wow! Big trade! Advantage for Nashville on that one! Wonder what Columbus were thinking, not much left there.

They had to move him--he was not happy and had asked for a trade. They will enjoy Jones but yeah it's not much in the flash department.

Joey's a quitter; couldn't handle adversity. Sad to see him go, but glad to see it after the pathetic effort he put forth. For a team that's never been able to build a quality blueline, I'm excited to see what Jones, Murray, and Werenski will be able to do together.
Unfortunately though, now I have a ton of Johansen signed stuff that I no longer want.

Not sure he will have more time in net with Anderssen and Gibson.

In a couple of years, Columbus fans might be loving that trade. Jones might not just be a good defenseman, he might pan out to be an elite defenseman. Combine that with the pieces they already have on the blueline, and this group could grow into a top end defense corps.
Of course they lack any real top level scoring, so they need to find some kind of replacement in their top 6.
Nashville gets the immediate win though. They don't need Jones for the short or medium term, and Johansen is a huge upgrade in their top 6.
As for the other deal: Schenn replaces Greene in the lineup, and Vinny comes in as a bottom-6 vet, who might still have a bit left in the tank for a final Cup Run. Good deal for the Kings.
