Yesterday, I went to a TV taping of a Chicago Bears Draft Special. The host of the event was former Bears long snapper and 16-year veteran Patrick Mannelly, and the guest was 2015 1st round pick Kevin White. The show said there would be no autographs, but they were giving a couple autos away by raffle.

I ended up sitting with 2 relatives of Kevin White. I was the winner of one of the raffles, and won a Kevin White autographed full-size replica helmet. After the event, Kevin White came to the table to see his relatives, and someone else got him to sign two jerseys, so since he was doing it, I had my daughter ask him to sign a card, and he did. Previous to this, one of the relatives said they would take my 8x10 home and have Kevin sign it and then mail it back to me. I hope that happens!
Finally, I got Patrick Mannelly to sign an 8x10. I was thrilled to get the helmet auto and the card signed!

Gearing up for the NFL Draft next week

The NFL Draft is in town this week, and prior to the start on Thursday, there are lots of activities. Today, I went to the NFL Shop pop-up store on Michigan Avenue, and got two autographs on cards of this offseason's Chicago Bears free agent acquisition, linebacker Jerrell Freeman. The store is having a bunch of players all week, although no huge names. Signing was free.

The NFL Draft is in town this week, and prior to the start on Thursday, there are lots of activities. Today, I went to the NFL Shop pop-up store on Michigan Avenue, and got two autographs on 8x10's of Indianapolis Colts safety Mike Adams, one autograph on an 8x10 of Carolina Panthers cornerback Teddy Williams, and 4 autographs on cards from Detroit Lions running back Ameer Abdullah. Signing was free.

This evening, went to a local store that was having a free signing with Chicago Bears wide receiver Josh Bellamy. I was able to get two 8x10's signed, although the gold didn't come out great, it started well, but then went bad as the signature continued.

Spent the day at Draft Town at the NFL Draft in Chicago. I was able to get 3 autographs on cards from current Chicago Bears running back Jeremy Langford, 2 autos on cards from Bears wide receiver Kevin White, 3 autos on cards from former Bears guard Tom Thayer, 2 autos on cards from former Vikings quarterback Daunte Culpepper, 2 autos on cards from former Packers wide receiver Antonio Freeman, 2 autos on cards from former Saints running back Deuce McAllister, and 3 autos on cards from former Jaguars running back Fred Taylor. Long day of standing in lines, but fun to get out of town guys.

Spent the day Friday at Draft Town at the NFL Draft in Chicago. I was able to get 4 autographs on cards from current Minnesota Vikings linebacker Anthony Barr, 5 autographs on cards from current Detroit Lions wide receiver Golden Tate, 1 autograph on a card from former Chicago Bear Lance Briggs, 2 autos on cards from former Green Bay Packers running back Ahman Green, 3 autographs on cards from former Seattle Seahawks running back Shaun Alexander, 2 autographs on cards from former Rams tackle Orlando Pace, and 1 autograph on a promo 8x10 by former Chicago Bear Otis Wilson. Did not get autographs from Terrell Davis, who 5 minutes before he was supposed to sign, it was announced that he would only sign a white autograph stage player card, and no outside items, because he had a memorabilia contract. I had waited 1 and a half hours for him, as did most others, and we were not happy.
Long day of standing in lines, but fun to get out of town guys.

Did not go back on Saturday Day 3, the lineup wasn't that great (only out of town guys were Tony Richardson and Larry Brown, the rest were local guys like Dan Hampton, Big Cat, etc.), plus it has been raining all day.

Did not go to Day 3 of the Draft, but yesterday, I attended a free autograph signing by Chicago bears running back Jeremy Langford, which was at a local card store in Buffalo Grove, IL, and was sponsored by Panini, as the prize in the NFL Player of the Day year-long contest. I was able to get 1 card and one Panini POD 8x10 signed, for free.

Today I went to a grand opening celebration of a Menard's in Bridgeview, IL, and was able to get 4 cards signed by Chicago Cubs legend and member of the Baseball Hall of Fame, Billy Williams.

Today, went to an appearance by former Chicago White Sox outfielder and member of the 2005 World Series Championship team, Scott Podsednik, at a food store in Woodridge, IL. Scottie Pods signed 6 cards for me, for free.
