Nice, Richard! I wouldn't mind picking up a Johan Gustafsson or Zack Phillips auto, even though both players aren't with the organization anymore. 😂

Yeah it's a good find if you can get one. I picked up an Andrighetto for $5 shipped. Can't go wrong at that price.

Habs fan and collector! Current PC's: Nick Suzuki, Cole Caufield, and Lane Hutson...., and of course...

This is the problem with the hobby today. We've begun to focus way too much attention on long term monetary value, and not what makes the hobby fun: set collecting, player collecting and team collecting. As far as I'm concerned, the AHL cards cover all three of these, which makes it a fun product to at least think about IMO.

I just so happen to agree with you. But he asked about busting boxes of it, not about picking up his favorite player. So my post was to emphasize that there is little value in busting boxes of minor league cards.

If he is interested in picking up a favorite player or two, then I'm all for it. But busting open boxes of this (or, God forbid, cases) would be a very large money loser if you didn't sell most of it right away. 90% of those cards will be worthless in three years because most of the players will be out of the sport by then and will have had short, if any, NHL careers. You can have any nice 1/1, 12-color, patch, auto, printing plate card, but if the guy never made it to the NHL, it wont be worth the price of mailing it to anyone.

First of all, I am the OP. 😉

Secondly, ain't no way I've got the funds to buy cases of anything, I don't care if it's old Victory. 😂

I think we can all agree that this isn't a product meant to hold long term monetary value. It's for AHL fans, set collectors, player collectors and team collectors. If you view it in that light, I think it's much more enjoyable to bust/collect.

Man. Makes me miss Victory and Score.
