Shipping to Russia
Hi guys,
Just wondering if anyone has tips on shipping a small lot to Russia from the USA. I went on the USPS site and the cost was outrageous ($60 or so). Anyone have any ideas on how to make this more feasible?

I can only comment on what it would cost from Canada.....
If I was just going to send an oversized letter to Russia (or Europe) it would cost me about $5. If I wanted it tracked, $60 sounds about right.
If it was thick enough that it was no longer a letter?? I would expect $60ish as well.

First class shouldn't be $60 unless the package was ridiculously large.

I don't ship to Russia. Tracking and insurance are outrageous, and I sure as hell wouldn't ship it there without that due to all the corruption and incompetence.

How many cards are you sending? I send registered mail, its around $21, with tracking. But can only be insured for $60. It cant be too thick, and you have to tell them its only documnets inside. I havent had an issue with this and I have sent hundreds this way.
OOPs, just saw you are in USA, I am refering to Canada Post, sorry

I've shipped a number of times to Russia with no issue. No insurance, had to trust the buyer and haven't been burned yet. If I'm selling to Russia I take a premium on the card then roll the dice.

I do the same as Japhi and haven't had any problems so far. If the lot is small enough, get it as flat as possible by spreading the cards out into two or more stacks, to get it below 3/4" thick (technically it is limited to 1/4" but there is a ton of leeway, it seems) so that it can be sent as a Large Letter (or whatever they call it); you might need to create a cardboard sleeve for them; make sure you include decoys for rigidity and protection, write "DO NOT BEND" on both sides and include a 21-cent non-machinable fee above the postage.
If it is a big-money item, you'll have to send Priority and take the hit, but even then it should only be about $21, no?
