Getting a card graded
HI: I have a very very rare card of Sidney Crosby
It is a 3x5 that is tagged with his signature 1997-98 UD Ovation
Now Here is my question
Beckett will not list a price for it anywhere, so how much the card value go up when graded
This card is in mint condition---came right out the box and into a soft sleeve then a hard sleeve and is
now is a bubble box.
So if nobody will give you the price and it comes back as a 10
how to fiqure out the real value

List it on ebay for a ridiculously high price and let buyers submit their best offer. You'll get an idea after receiving a few offers. As for getting the card graded, I don't think it's worth it if the card is really that rare.
A scan of your card would be nice, btw.

A scan of his 97-98 card would be incredible... He'd be what, 10 years old? :)

I agree that it is probably not worth getting that particular card graded, as the chunk of its value lies in its scarcity. If it didn't come back at least 9.5 Gem, grading would probably actually detract from its value. Of course, there is a certain percentage of the hobby base that really goes ga-ga over graded, so you might luck out and get a premium from one of those guys.
As far as sales value goes, I'll venture a guess. Crosby 3rd-year sticker auto on a rare (possibly very rare) over-sized card. There are eBay sales for hard-signed Sid cards - more common ones - for $65-$100 and a graded BGS 10 Trilogy for $145, but the rarity on this should command a decent premium over that. I'd say float it out there at $250 and see if you get any bites, with the idea that $200 is probably good and you might have to drop to $150 if there is just no interest. Anything lower and it is probably just worth keeping unless you really need the $$.
Perhaps someone with more experience buying and selling Crosby will chime in here, too. Could this be a white whale for one of you guys? Good luck, whatever you decide to do!
