Bought a pack just to try it out, tried to open it and got this message "Error has occurred" - doesn't look like they have all the bugs ironed out or heavy traffic.

I got three base cards: Burrows, JVR, Kunitz

But, I do like the idea... There's potential for something nice for nothing (that is, if you're patient enough). It reminds me a lot of Ultimate Team for NHL and FIFA. I opened packs without ever spending an additional penny on those games, and I got some really nice cards. Oh, how I wish that luck would translate into physical packs...

Well this might finally explain those OPC epack cards that showed up as sold out on COMC back in September.

Likely COMC is sitting on the physical cards (that you could redeem for). I believe this is how the Tim Horton's redemptions went out - They were all sent to COMC (from Upper Deck) and they took care of the delivery.

Well I've registered. Looks interesting. First pack was all base. So my e-luck is the same as my physical pack luck. LOL

Looks like you're correct. Just received an email from COMC stating the fact that they've partnered up with UD for this release.

Ended up opening a pack - 3 base cards... yay...

Curious.. as a Canadian if I buy a box for $89.99 will that be in Canadian dollars or will they convert it up to $125? Will provincial sales tax be added? I suppose I could drop $3.99 on a pack to find out this info. Just wondering if anyone here has already tried.

So free packs gets you 3 cards - most likely base. Packs you purchase contain 8 cards, like a regular pack. I found out by actually biting the bullet and buying one. I got a Carey Price Portraits as my only "Physical Card", the rest was all digital base.

EDIT: As for the price, it was $3.99 US. Converted to $5.77 CAD. A somewhat expensive experiment.

Pretty similar to what you'd be paying at the LCS for a single pack these days.

Could be fun, but when you request the physical cards do you have to pay the usual shipping from COMC as well?

Can be costly in a hurry.
