TTM return postage...
I have had success with sending trading cards through the mail since it is easy to put a stamp on a return envelope and include that in the SASE with the card and letter.....
But for those who regularly send baseballs, 8x10's, jerseys, magazines etc. to current or former players for an autograph, What have you found as the best way to include a return package/return postage for larger or bulky items?

I have never mailed a jersey, but here is what I do for other items:
8x10/Magazine- I prepay for a return shipping label on USPS.com, put it on a priority mail envelope, and stick all of the stuff in a 10x13 envelope. Pay for that at the post office, usually $3-$5 to ship to its destination.
Baseball- I ship the ball with a smaller bubble mailer inside a larger bubble mailer. Return shipping is usually about $3-$4, so most times, I send $5 cash for the return shipping costs.
Mini-Helmets- Only mailed 2 out, one is pending, the other received back signed. Put the helmet in a box with the sharpie of whichever color I prefer, $10 to cover mailing fees (usually about $5), with them keeping the remaining for their troubles, and a hand written return label to be placed over the one that got it to them.
Hope this helps somewhat. I have seen people figure out the cost and just put stamp upon stamp on the envelope to cover shipping.

I only send 8x10's out with SASE.
For the 8x10 that I sent to the team/athlete, I use one $2 stamp and one Forever stamp. For the SASE I only put a $2 stamp. I buy the 9x11 manilla envelopes with the easy seal and those have worked great for me. I sometimes include a thin cardboard protector to help it from getting bent, but I would say that 50% I just send 'unprotected'.
I have never had a problem with something getting returned for insufficient funds or anything.

All the stuff I send out are 8x10s and I usually use 2 8.5x11 envelopes I put my pictures between 2 pieces of cardboard and paperclip them together. then I put that my LOR and a sharpie in the first envelope go to the post office they weigh it and put on the postage and I fold the SASE and put it in with the rest of the stuff. Never had anything come back insufficient funds and its usually only like 2.50 an envelope.
